QUESTIONS?

You Ask - I Answer

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Individual therapy is 50 minutes. Groups are longer - about 1 hour, 30 minutes .

HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO COME?

The more regularly you come the more work can be accomplished. Typically you will come once a week.

WHAT AGES DO YOU TREAT?

13 and up

HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO COST ME?

Yes therapy can be expensive - but therapy is also an investment in the self. We will discuss an appropriate fee during initial consultation.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

I am an out of network provider - but that does not mean insurance will not cover it. What out of network means is that you pay for the session up front and get reimbursed on the back end.

I am so confused. HOW DO I KNOW IF MY INSURANCE WILL COVER IT?

Here are some good questions to ask your insurance provider to figure it out.

  1. Do I have out-of-network benefits?

  2. What is my out of network deductible?

  3. What percentage do you reimburse for outpatient individual therapy after the deductible is met?

  4. So just to make sure...my therapist is charging x amount, what is the maximum I can get reimbursed?

Still confused? No worries. It is very confusing. I can help you with this process until you get the hang of it.

UM...SO...WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY DO IN THERAPY?

You and I will be doing a lot of talking. Talking about your current behaviors and thoughts patterns. Talking about what you might want to change. Talking about your relationships with family, friends and partners. As we get to know each other, we will also talk about our relationship - yes, you and me- and how we are connecting or not connecting. We can also explore more concrete skills to help you manage a specific trigger or situation.
