Individual therapy is a safe place to talk about anything and everything. It is an opportunity to challenge the status quo and try new ways to handle the stressors in your life. I have several areas of expertise.
Maybe every morning you tell yourself - today is the day I am not going to binge. But it happens anyway. You have noticed life is starting to become a cycle of binge, purge, binge, purge. You are absolutely terrified of gaining weight if you vary even slightly from your food routine. The number on the scale has started to determine your mood and even though you know it is not helpful, you feel compelled to weigh yourself multiple times a day. Maybe, you can no longer focus on social interactions because food is the only thing on your mind. Every time you do eat – the guilt and shame are intolerable.
If you are reading this, you may know food is an issue, but are scared to start talking about it. Don’t worry, you are on the right track. When you are more comfortable and feel ready - I am here. You do not need to do this alone.
Has your drinking and/or drug use gone from fun to fun with consequences or maybe just consequences? Are the hangovers devastating? Do you tell yourself ever day you are not going to drink - and then somehow end up with a glass of wine in your hand? Want a safe place to talk about it, but are not quite ready to give it up or never want to give it up? My practice is a good place to start exploring. I am familiar with 12 step and harm reduction approaches. There is no one right way to approach substance use - we will work together to do what is effective for you.

Do you feel like you never quite fit in? Or that something is off but you can’t totally put your finger on it? Are you just flat out confused? As a trans guy, I totally get it. If you are curious about your gender and sexuality and want to explore, I am here to listen and get curious with you.
Ever feel like your emotions go up and down and all around? Do you become overwhelmed by your emotions or do not understand why you engage in certain behaviors? If yes, DBT - a skills based therapy aimed at helping individuals regain control over their emotions - may be helpful to you.
